Honestly there were a lot of feelings mixed up in my heart before my casual visit to the churches. After the visit however, i felt truly thankful and grateful. There was a lot of information Allah gave me. It was truly an eye opening experiences. Alhamdulillah.
Services done in churches are mostly very organized and community-friendly. They serve the community based on what the community need. They have centre specifically for autistic children, kindergarten with Fun-Gates curriculum, cafes and bookshops. The administration seems very systematic.
Pre-marital counselling is also run by one of the churches. Each session done to discuss on various topic to ensure the couple are well equipped with basic knowledge on how to get things started accordingly. The sessions consists issues related on a few things such as financial, communication, relationship, sexual discussion and etc.
The community involved not only for certain ages but to all citizen, from young children, youth, young adult, adults and elderly. The churches prepare suitable activities for each of them. The activities run by different ministries under the church. The personnel i shall say are those who have expertise background based on what ministries they run but most of them are usually volunteers. Other programs such as school of leadership, camp activities for children.
This manhaj (my visit to churches) is merely to have myself exposed directly to what other religious institutions offer to their society. Reminiscing back on Perang Salib, when the European or Christians to be exact, encounter Muslims way of living managed to change their lives in almost every aspect. I’m not really alim on the history, i know only a little of it. However, the most significant thing i learnt when reading articles on Perang Salib is that ilmu can change someone life upside down, insyaAllah. From jahil to wise and able to differentiate haq and batil. Having yourself exposed to other cultures or even different religions will help you grow not only as a human being but as a Muslim as well.
In this particular case, i want to thank Tan Sue Ern.
Dear, you help me see myself as a human being. Better yet, you help me realize where i stand as a Melayu and as a Muslim. I truly appreciate your honest comment about me. Honesty is the most beautiful ingredient in friendship (at least, that is what i believe in). I thank Allah everyday for this wonderful friendship. Last but not least, wishing you all the best and may you find true love soon. I love you more than you can imagine.
P/s: my impression on churches does not mean at all i look down on systems we Muslims have at masjid.
